Tianjin in 2 days — city highlights plus Jizhou
Two days lets you do the riverside core properly and still take one Jizhou day trip without rushing. Keep day one on the must-sees and day two on the museums, then escape north to the Great Wall or the mountains.
Set up Alipay for metro QR, DiDi and bikes. Book the Tianjin Eye real-name ticket ahead with your passport. For day 2, hire a car or join a shuttle to Jizhou (~110 km north); the Huangyaguan Great Wall cable car closes some Mondays for maintenance.
Day 1 — The riverside core
The headline sights, anchored at the Haihe.
- 09:00 Tianjin Eye 1 hr — the riverside Ferris wheel; book the timed ticket ahead.
- 10:30 Ancient Culture Street 1.5 hr — the free folk lane; Tianhou Palace and snacks.
- 13:00 Italian Style Town 1.5 hr — the piazza and cafés by the river.
- 15:30 Five Great Avenues 2 hr — the villa grid; rent a bike cart at dusk.

Day 2 — Museums & a Jizhou day trip
The softer morning, then north to the wall or the mountains.
- 09:30 Tianjin Museum 2.5 hr — the flagship collection; free, pre-book.
- 12:30 Porcelain House 1 hr — the plate-clad mansion; small ticket.
- 14:00 Drive north to Jizhou (~110 km) Hire a car or shuttle; ~1.5 hr each way.
- 16:00 Huangyaguan Great Wall 2 hr — the restored mountain wall; avoid Mondays for the cable car.
- 19:00 Return to Tianjin Dinner back in the Haihe core.
Practical notes
- Book the Tianjin Eye first. It is the one thing with no reliable walk-up; everything else is flexible.
- Jizhou is a half-day each way. Pick the Great Wall or Panshan mountain for day 2, not both — a third day lets you do the other.
- Watch Monday maintenance. The Tianjin Eye and the Huangyaguan cable car both close some Mondays; shuffle around it.
- The core is flat and walkable. Save Didi for the cross-town hops and the Jizhou transfer.
Only one day? See the 1-day plan. Want both Jizhou sights? See the 3-day plan, or return to the Tianjin hub.
